Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliyev proposed to simplify the procedures, which focuses mainly on reducing the time of border inspection of aircrafts, the Ministry's press service reported on Wednesday.

"Given that the regularity of flights depends on the congruence of the border and customs services at airports in Kazakhstan, actions are planned with border and customs services on facilitation, which focuses mainly on reducing the time of border inspection of aircrafts, the use of technological innovations at passport control," says the press release.

Kamaliyev suggested to establish a working group on simplification of customs procedures, border and passport controls at airports. This group will develop proposals to amend the legislation governing this activity.

According the ministry, over eight months of this year, the regularity of flights at the airport in Astana was 86 percent. The main causes of delays are the late arrival of aircrafts (64 percent), disrepair of aircrafts (9 percent), weather conditions at airports (8 percent). One reason is the lack of interaction between services in passenger registration, which suggests the need to optimize these procedures.
