Record results for ferry cargo transshipments were achieved for the first time during the activity of the ferry complex in the port of Aktau.
During the first nine months of 2011, they amounted to over 1 million tons, the port said on Tuesday.
According to the information, ten years passed from the beginning of the activity of the railway-ferry complex in the Aktau port in September. The complex was commissioned in 2001. At present, it transports cargo on the Aktau - Baku line.
As of 2010, the port transported more than 9.56 million tons of oil compared to more than 11.3 million tons in 2009.
