Minister: Azerbaijan’s budget revenues jump

The Azerbaijani state budget revenues have jumped by 74,500 times over the past 20 years, while expenses have risen by 82,900 times, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said today.

"Budget revenues in 2011 increased by 74,500 times compared to 1991 and reached 15.554.2 billion manat, while expenses - by 82,900 times - up to 15.941.2 billon manat," Sharifov said.

The costs of funding social activities increased by 41,500 times over 20 years, and this year it is envisaged to allocate 3.901.2 billion manat for these purposes.

"International organizations also mentioned positive dynamics in the country's political and economic life in their reports," Sharifov said.

He said the report "Open Budget Index" of international organization of budget cooperation, conducting a survey in about 100 countries, positively assessed the reforms in the sphere of transparency of budgetary process in Azerbaijan.
