Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector increases tax remittances by 23 percent

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes could collect and remit to the state budget 5.134.7 million manat in tax payments in January-November 2011, the ministry said on Tuesday.
Revenues from income tax amounted to 42.8 percent of total tax collection, VAT to 23.5 percent, the income tax to12.2 percent, excise taxes to 7.8 percent, and other taxes 13.7 percent.

Remittances from the non-oil sector to the public budget made up 2.652.9 million manat, or 23 percent more compared to the same period in 2010.

The total number of taxpayers registered in the country was 63,021 during the reporting period. The number of individuals registered in an electronic order from July 1 to December 1, 2011 constituted 8,181 people. The total number of taxpayers amounted to 416,772 people as of December 1, 2011.

The share of tax returns filed in electronic form made up 88.5 percent over 10 months of 2011.
