Turkish Airlines has canceled dozens of domestic and international flights due to a strong hurricane that hit Istanbul on Wednesday, the official website of the airlines said today.

Heydar Aliyev International Airport told Trend today that there are no problems with receiving and sending planes to Turkey. Evening flights are not expected to be cancelled.

"Airplanes are received and sent in accordance with the flight schedule," the airport said.

It was earlier reported that Turkey has cancelled some voyages.

A strong hurricane hit Istanbul today. The roofs of some houses were destroyed. Bogazici Bridge was closed. According to the preliminary reports, one person died.

Turkish hydro-Meteorologists reported that the wind speed reached 80 km / h.
