Iran and Iraq have agreed to ease border checkpoint procedures for heavy trucks, and passenger buses and vehicles traveling to both countries.
Until now, trucks transporting goods stopped at the entry border and their load was transferred to the entered country's trucks to continue moving, Fars news agency reports.
Now heavy vehicles will now be able to pass through both neighbors' border check points freely and continue their destinations.
The new agreement also lets passenger buses enter both countries and finish their journey.
The two neighbors will work to speed up issuing visas for private passenger vehicles.
