Turkey’s tourism revenues increase

Turkey's revenues from tourism increased by 3.8 percent in the second quarter of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 and amounted to $5.5 billion, a report of the Statistics Institute of Turkey on its website says on Monday.

According to the report, 82 percent of tourism revenues have been received from foreign tourists.

Turkey's tourism costs for the reporting period decreased by 1.6 percent and amounted to $1.1 billion.

Total revenues from tourism in Turkey totaled $8.3 billion in January-June.
