Industrial park to be built in Kazakh Zhanaozen

An industrial park will be built in the Kazakh city of Zhanaozen. Deputy Chairman of KazMunaiGas national company Magzum Mirzagaliev announced at the forum of oil and gas companies, ‘Oil and Gas: Kazakh Content 2013’.

An industrial park will be built in the Kazakh city of Zhanaozen. Deputy Chairman of KazMunaiGas national company Magzum Mirzagaliev announced at the forum of oil and gas companies, 'Oil and Gas: Kazakh Content 2013'.

"The company signed memorandums and agreements which provide for establishment of an industrial park in Zhanaozen, organisation of production of photovoltaic modules and enterprises manufacturing various types of oil and gas equipment," Mirzagaliev said.

He reminded delegates that at the initiative of the national company, an investment forum was organised in Aktau to attract investors in September last year where several memorandums and agreements were signed with participation of KMG to create new industries in Kazakhstan with the participation of foreign companies.

Mirzagaliev added that in the framework of the signed agreements, a joint venture will be established for production and service of automated systems for managing technological processes and control-measuring instrumentation, as well as construction of a plant for production of premium connections for oil country tubular goods and construction of a plant in the Mangistau region for processing bituminous minerals.

"The implementation of the signed documents involves investing in the economy of West Kazakhstan about $375 million and creating 675 new jobs," Mirzagaliev said.

In addition he said that the Aktau declaration was signed on joint actions between KMG and the large oil and gas operators - Tengizchevroil, NCOC (North Caspian Operating Company) and KPO (Karachaganak Petroleum Operating), which is an expression of the large oil and gas operators support to the operations to combine individual programmes of operators for development of Kazakh content in a single initiative.

"The declaration includes work in areas such as the creation of new local industries, harmonisation of standards and procedures of oil and gas operators, creation of a unified database of Kazakhstan industry, human resource development, support of research and development activities and attracting investment in the development of domestic industry," Mirzagaliev added.
