Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan approved the requirements for the type, construction and supply of customs warehouses and temporary storage units to be conducted under licence, a government statement published in the official press on Monday says.
According to the statement, the requirements also apply to transactions relating to commodities located at the warehouses, their accounting and Customs control, as well as the owners of the warehouses.
Control zones are being created at customs warehouses and temporary storage areas. The goods stored at the warehouses under a special customs procedure may be temporarily taken out with the exception of force majeure or with the permission of the customs authorities.
Under the new requirements, the owners of warehouses must provide reports on existing products at least every three months. The owners must submit reports in electronic form or on paper.
At present a customs officer may serve a notice on the owner of the warehouse and demand a report on goods stored therein.
The decision on the approval of the rules was adopted on May 3, 2013.
