The number of enterprises registered in Turkey in April 2013 increased by 9.49 percent compared to the previous month, the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey said in a report on its official website on Wednesday.

The number of enterprises registered in Turkey in April 2013 increased by 9.49 percent compared to the previous month, the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey said in a report on its official website on Wednesday.

According to the report, the number of enterprises in the sphere of trade, established in April, increased by 0.98 percent, and the number of cooperatives increased by 25.3 percent. Thus, 10,796 enterprises were established in April 2013.

The total number of enterprises that closed during the reporting period increased by 30.38 percent compared to the previous month, the number of liquidated commercial enterprises decreased by 13 percent, while the number of cooperatives - by 19.13 percent, the report says.

Compared to April 2012, the total number of registered enterprises decreased by 25 percent, commercial enterprises - by 6 percent, and cooperatives - by 3 percent.

According to the report, the number of enterprises closed down within the year decreased by 22 per cent, enterprises in trade sphere - by 9 percent, cooperatives - by 1.4 percent.
The majority of enterprises was established in Istanbul Province - 38.9 percent, Ankara - 13 percent and Izmir - 5.9 percent.

In April 2013 336 companies with foreign capital were established in Turkey, Some 38 of them are with Syrian capital, 32 enterprises with German funding and 25 enterprises with Iranian funds.
