Azerbaijan ranks third in terms of the number of companies established with foreign investment in Turkey in May 2013, according to a report of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey, published on Friday on its official website.

Azerbaijan ranks third in terms of the number of companies established with foreign investment in Turkey in May 2013, according to a report of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey, published on Friday on its official website.

27 companies with Azerbaijani investments were founded in Turkey.

In total, some 399 enterprises with foreign investment were founded in Turkey during the reporting period. Syria ranks first in terms of the number of companies with foreign investment - 61 companies; it is followed by Germany with 37 companies.

In general, 4,300 new companies were created in Turkey in May, or 38.5 percent more than the same month in 2012. Some 1,600 companies were closed in Turkey in May, which is seven percent more than in May 2012.

Of the total number of newly established companies, 40 percent were established in Istanbul, 12.3 percent in Ankara, 5.8 percent in Izmir. During this period, no companies were registered in the provinces of Artvin, Kars and Kilis.
