Azerbaijani banks deliver over 11 percent of loans for regions’ development

The loans given to the population in Azerbaijani regions hit 1,544.67 million manats as of January-June 2013, or 11.2 percent of the total volume of the loan portfolio of the banks, a statistics report of Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) published on its website said.

According to the CBA, the figure was equivalent to 12,229.4 million manats in Baku, including 8,594.5 million manats as loans in national currency.

The interest rate of loans averaged 14.3 percent as of July 1, 2013, including 13.7 percent in Baku.

The amount of crediting was equivalent to 344.1 million manats (average interest rate of 18.8 percent) in the Absheron economic region, 539.15 million manats (19.6 percent) in the Aran region, 47.3 million manats (21 percent) in the Mountain Shirvan region, 203.7 million manats (21.1 percent) in the Ganja-Gazakh region, 56.5 million manats (20.5 percent) in the Guba-Khachmaz region, 156.9 million manats (23.2 percent) in the Lenkoran region, 72.87 million manats (22.6 percent) in the Sheki-Zagatala region, 27.2 million manats (14.6 percent) in the Upper Karabakh region, 10.7 million manats (21 percent) in the Kalbajar-Lachin region, 86.14 million manats (10.8 percent) in the Nakhchivan region.

According to the results of the reporting period banks granted loans in the amount of 13,774.1 million manats compared to 10,734.8 million manats in the same period of the last year.

Azerbaijani banks increased crediting of the economy in the first half-year of 2013 up to 12.5 percent, and on the annual rate to 28.3 percent.
