In accordance with the decree of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a Council was created in the country for supervision of the export of agricultural and commodity products of ministries and industrial agencies, agricultural joint-stock companies belonging to agro-industrial complex, the decree said.
The Council was created under the approved Procedure of conducting exchange trades on export, which was signed with the aim of further regulating exports through exchange trading of agricultural and commodity products of the ministries and industrial agencies, agricultural joint-stock companies belonging to agro-industrial complex, as well as strengthening control over sales of these products.
The Ministry of Agriculture and State commodity and raw materials exchange of Turkmenistan were instructed to present proposals about relevant changes and additions to the national legislation.
Turkmenistan grows export volumes of cotton and wheat. Facilities on production of mineral fertilizers are being developed in recent years here. Moreover, agricultural technology is being actively purchased in the USA and Belarus, under fundamental reforms conducted in the country's agro-industrial complex, as well as in view of the development of virgin lands.
It is planned to harvest around 1.5 million tons of cotton in 2013 in Turkmenistan, while nearly 1.235 million tons of cotton was harvested last year.
Turkmenistan plans to harvest around 1.6 million tons of wheat in 2014. The same volume was harvested this year.
