Turkish company to supply equipment for Turkmen granaries

The Turkmengallaonumleri (Turkmen Association for Bread Products) state association will sign a contract with Turkish Tepe Türkmen Inşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş company, a published decree by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

According to the decree, the project includes purchase, delivery and installation of equipment for granaries to be built in the provinces of Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary, with a capacity of 5,000 tons each and sectors for harvesting wheat seed.

The construction of granaries will be carried out by the company of the Turkmen Ministry of Construction.

The decree has been signed "for the purposes of careful storage in accordance with specified requirements, of wheat grown in the provinces of the country and provision of high quality seeds to the producers."

The document requires to begin construction and installation works in December 2013, and deliver the objects for commissioning in June 2014.

Turkmenistan plans to collect 1.6 million tons of grain from 860,000 hectares of land in 2014.
In 2013 Turkmenistan managed to collect 1.6 million tons of wheat or 400,000 tons more than in 2012. More than 1880 Case, New Holland, John Deere and CLAAS combine harvesters were used.

In 2010 Turkmenistan started to export food grain. In particular, out of the crop that was grown in the country at that time through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan, 150,000 tons of wheat was sold on the foreign market and 30,000 tons on the domestic market.

In 2012 the Turkmengallaonumleri (Turkmen Association for Bread Products) state association was allowed to sell 300,000 tons of wheat on foreign markets from the volume of the harvest of 2011 which exceeded domestic needs.
