Astana, Kazakhstan, Dec.20
By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:
Some 70 percent of Nomad cars produced by Kazakhstan will be exported to Customs Union countries, a member of the board of directors of Agromashholding and Sari-Arka Automobile Industry JSC Andrei Lavrentiev told Trend on Dec.20.
"Nomad car is a fully Kazakh car, and we will export it to the Customs Union countries. We are currently going through the certification procedure in Russia. We will get all certificates for sale by mid-2014 and will start deliveries of Nomad cars of Kazakh production," Lavrentiev said.
Lavrentiev recalled that Agromashholding and Sari-Arka Automobile Industry JSC (Kostanai province, northern Kazakhstan) received a license from the South Korean company SsangYong for production, as well as intellectual property rights of Nomad cars.
This will be a pure Kazakh car since here we have all the important parts, from the metal plate to the screws. We are moving away from the so-called "souvenir or screwdriver" assembly and are going to the next level of motor industry - the level of a full-fledged production, which means a big step in our machine building," the member of the board of directors of the JSC said.
Kazakh Nomad car is a compact off-road car, according to Lavrentiev.
"It will be something between a Toyota Rav 4 and Toyota Prado. A vehicle of this segment today is in high demand in the Kazakh market. Its price will start from $22,500," Lavrentiev said.
