Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company will export 1,500 tractors to Iraq, ISNA quoted the company's managing director Abolfath Ebrahimi as saying on January 11.

Iraqi officials have put in a request for buying 1,500 tractors from the company, he added.

The company has exported 3,658 tractors so far in the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2013), he said.

In November 2013, the chairman of Iran-Iraq joint chamber of commerce Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi said that the value of the trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq stood at $6.2 billion in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year.

"Iran's exports accounted for $5.6 billlion of the mentioned amount," Sanjabi said. "Exports of non-oil goods to Iraq amounted to $3.06 billion, showing 26 percent rise year on year."

"Some $878 million worth of goods were also transited via Iran to Iraq," Sanjabi added.

"Iranian companies have won bids in Iraq to carry out over $800 million worth of technical and engineering projects, such as building dams, bridges, residential complexes, power plants and medical centers," he said.
