Iran’s non-oil exports increase by 10 percent

Iran's non-oil exports including gas condensates surpassed $2.824 billion in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21), which indicates an increase by 10.4 percent compared to the same month of the preceding year.

Iran exported some 6.236 million tonnes of non-oil goods during the period which is 5.45 percent up compared the first month of last Iranian calendar year, Iranian Customs Administration reported on April 27.

Liquefied propane worth $211 million, liquefied butane worth $131 million and methanol worth $102 million topped the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods during the period.

Liquefied propane accounted for 10.34 percent of the country's non-oil exports, followed by liquefied butane (6.42 percent), methanol (4.98 percent) respectively.

Iran also imported about 2.644 tonnes of goods, worth $2.514 billion during the first month of the current year. The figures indicate rise by 39.74 percent and 21.53 percent respectively compared to the first month of last Iranian calendar year.

Wheat worth $329 million, rice worth $95 million, press cake worth $88 million, sugar worth $78 million and corn worth $65 million were the main imported goods in the period.

China was the main target of Iran's exported goods in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year. Some 34 percent of Iran's exported none-oil goods ($694 million) went to China during the period.

Iraq, the UAE, India and Afghanistan were other top importers of Iranian goods during the mentioned period. The countries imported $365 million (18 percent of Iran's total none-oil exports), $210 million (10 percent), $138 million (7 percent) and $100 million (5 percent) worth of Iranian goods, respectively.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates, China, India, Turkey and South Korea were the leading exporters of goods to Iran. They exported $604 million, $445 million, $234 million, $202 million and $156 million worth of goods to Iran during the period.
