Uzbek and Chinese attorneys general adopted a cooperation program for 2015-2016, the Uzbek Prosecutor General Office's statement said.

The document was signed in Tashkent as part of a visit of a delegation of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China.

It was signed by the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Rashitzhon Kadyrov and the head of the Chinese Supreme People's Procuratorate Cao Jianming, who arrived in Tashkent to attend a meeting of Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states.

The program envisages strengthening of cooperation between the prosecutor's offices as part of the cooperation agreement, signed in October 2000.

During the meeting, the sides stressed the need for Uzbekistan and China to sign an agreement on the transfer of persons sentenced to imprisonment. Its draft is being worked out, the statement said.

Currently, the prosecutor's offices cooperate on the basis of an interstate agreement on legal assistance in civil and criminal cases of 1997, an interstate agreement on the extradition of 1999 and an interoffice agreement of 2000.

A delegation of the Chinese Supreme People's Procuratorate also held meetings in the Senate (Upper House of the Parliament), the Interior Ministry and the Uzbek Supreme Court.
