Azerbaijan’s 10 major insurance companies made insurance payments totalling 89.77 million Azerbaijani manats (1.6102 AZN/USD on Aug. 13) in 1H 2016, said the Financial Market Supervisory Body.
The figure accounts for about 90 percent of the payments made by all the insurance companies in the mentioned period.
There are a total of 25 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.

Pasha Insurance leads the ranking in terms of its insurance payments. The company paid 20.85 million manats, or 20.56 percent of the total amount.
Ateshgah Life ranked second in the same list with 16.68 million manats, or 16.45 percent of the total payments, being followed by Pasha Life, which paid 10.66 million manats (10.51 percent).
In 1H 2016, insurance companies in Azerbaijan collected 285.3 million manats in insurance premiums, which is 42.95 million manats (17.7 percent) more than the same period of 2015.
