The official rate of the Turkish national currency, lira, against the US dollar and euro hit a new record low on Jan. 10 since 2005 – the period of the lira’s denomination.

The rate of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and euro decreased by 1.24 and 1.82 percent respectively as compared to the rate on Jan. 9.

The official rate is 3.777 TRY/USD and 4.002 TRY/EUR on Jan. 10.

Experts believe that the political uncertainty in the country has had an impact on the current reduction of Turkish lira’s value.
