The Tashkent metro expansion project is underway, as construction of the Sergeli and the Yunusabad lines, as well as the metro ring line, runs in line with the schedule.
Tashkent Metro head Oybek Khudoikulov said that the 7.1 km long Sergeli line should be commissioned by 2020. There will be six stations on the line.
Completion of the construction of the Yunusabad line with a length of 2.93 km and is planned to be completed by 2019.
Khudoikulov said that the project is moving forward with the cooperation of companies from Italy, China and Serbia.
The total length of the metro ring line is 52.1 kilometers. The branch will consist of 35 stations. The project is designed for 2017-2021 and will be implemented in five phases.
Under the project, this metro line will pass through Yashnabad, Uchtepa, Almazar, Yunusabad, Chilanzar and Sergeli districts. The first stage of the construction will connect the station "Dustlik" with the bazaar Kulyuk. Work on this site is already underway.
