Kazakhstan reached a monthly maximum of barley export shipments (175,800 tons) in December 2017, while almost all of export amount (98 percent) accounted for Iran.
The volume of barley exports in 2017 reached 897,000 tons (25 percent more than in 2016), according to the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
In December 2017, Kazakhstan’s grain exports amounted to 709,000 tons, which is the maximum monthly indicator for the last 5 years.
The leader in Kazakh exports of cereals in the reporting month is wheat. In December 2017 Kazakhstan shipped 520,000 tons of wheat to foreign markets. The leaders among buyers of Kazakh wheat are Uzbekistan (231,000 tons) and Tajikistan (112,000 tons).
