The official dealers of Kazakhstan sold 3,122 cars during the first month of this year, which is more by 36.5 percent compared to the same indicator of 2017, reads a report issued by the Union of Enterprises of the Automobile Industry of Kazakhstan "KazAvtoProm".
During the reporting period, $73.9 million was spent for purchasing new cars in Kazakhstan, which is 43.2 percent more compared to the same period last year.
Out of the total volume, some 1,883 cars (60.3 percent) sold in January were imported, 1 239 buyers (39.7 percent) made choise in favor of Kazakh cars.
The rating of the most popular brands of cars in Kazakhstan in January-November 2017 is headed by Lada: during the reporting period 785 cars were sold in the country. The sales of models of Toyota amounted to 665 units. The third position was taken by Ravon (Uzbekistan's automaker) with 492 cars sold.
In the rating of passenger cars, Ravon Nexia (251 units), Lada Granta (216 units) and off road Lada 4x4 (212 units) are in the lead.
BIPEK AUTO - ASIA AUTO remains as the largest dealer group in the Kazakh market. the company sold 31.4 percent of all cars sold in January.
The main activity in purchase of cars this January was shows by residents of Almaty (745 cars sold), Astana (517 cars ), Kostanay (278 cars), Atyrau (258 cars), Shymkent (220 cars), Karaganda (158 cars ), Uralsk (148 cars), Aktobe (139 cars ), Ust-Kamenogorsk (132 cars) and Aktau (122 cars).
