In 2017, the value of industrial products in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl Region amounted to 367.9 billion tenge, increasing by 1.8 percent compared to 2016, said Askar Myrzakhmetov, head of the region, at a meeting of the regional administration.
"Growth trends are observed in the mining industry and quarrying by 12.6 percent (43.8 billion tenge), manufacturing - by 1.6 percent (254.8 billion tenge), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning - by 0.8 percent (65.9 billion tenge), water supply, sewage system, control over waste collection and distribution - by 0.7 percent (3.2 billion tenge)," he said.
The region increased the extraction of natural gas, phosphate raw materials, extraction and processing of limestone and gypsum, as well as extraction of non-ferrous metal ores.
The region's output of chemical products increased by 47.2 percent, machine building - by 19.7 percent, metallurgy - by 17.9 percent.
