Uzbekistan presents agricultural products in Europe

Uzbekistan for the first time took part in the International Food and Beverage Exhibition, FOOD EXPO GREECE, which was held on March 10-12 in Athens, the Uzbek media reported.

The exhibition, which is held since 2014, is the biggest regional international food and beverage exhibition in South-Eastern Europe.

More than 1,250 companies from 22 countries of the world took part in the fifth exhibition: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Egypt, China, the Republic of Korea, Cyprus, Lebanon, Macedonia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, India, Spain, Italy, Israel, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, the US and Uzbekistan.

The exhibition presented food and beverages produced in the participating countries, the latest food production technologies and equipment. Visitors and participants of FOOD EXPO had an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest food and beverage trends, modern innovative and technological solutions.

Uzbekistan was represented by 30 small and medium-sized businesses at the exhibition with the direct assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Export Support Fund under the National Bank of Uzbekistan, as well as the Consulate General of the country in Athens.

Products of Uzbekistan, presented under the "Made in Uzbekistan" brand, caused special interest of representatives of foreign countries.

Agreements were achieved with foreign companies to conclude contracts for the export of Uzbek products, cooperation agreements, and attraction of mini-technologies worth more than $28 million.

Meanwhile, during the exhibition, Uzbek companies had an opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced foreign innovative technologies in food industry with a view to their further implementation for the production of competitive products.
