The National Association of Importers and Exporters of Mexico will open a representative office in Baku, Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores told Trend.
The representative office is planned to be opened on April 30, 2018. The organization will represent the interests of 3,000 importers and exporters from Mexico in Azerbaijan.
“From 1993 to 2015, the average annual volume of trade between Mexico and Azerbaijan was less than $1.5 million. However, starting from 2015, this indicator has risen up to $20-22 million, which is several times more than in the previous decade. This is a small figure, but we are working on its significant increase, and we will increase mutual trade in the near future,” the ambassador noted.
He said that the opening of representative office of the Mexican association in Azerbaijan will positively affect the dynamics of development of cooperation of the two countries’ business circles.
Another indicator of the development of bilateral relations, according to the ambassador, is an increase in mutual tourist turnover of Azerbaijan and Mexico by several times.
