Crediting of manufacturing industry increases in Kazakhstan

The volume of crediting of manufacturing industry in Kazakhstan amounted to 1.3 trillion tenge as of March 2018, increasing by 6.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2017.

In 2017, the volume of crediting of manufacturing projects already showed an annual growth of 13.9 percent, amounting to 1.2 trillion tenge.

The share of crediting of manufacturing industry accounts for 68.6 percent of the total volume of loans allocated to industrial projects.

The share of the segment from the total volume of corporate loans is increasing for the fourth year in a row. For March 2014-2018, the share of lending to the manufacturing sector increased from 10.9 percent to 16.3 percent.

The highest growth in the loan portfolio of manufacturing projects was recorded in the metallurgy sector - by 47.3 percent, to 311.1 billion tenge, and in the rubber and plastic products industry - by 34.8 percent, to 42.8 billion tenge.

A decrease in lending volumes was recorded in Kazakhstan’s food industry sector - by 14.3 percent, to 302.7 billion tenge.
