Uzbekistan imports over half of Ukrainian sugar

Ukraine exported 41,800 tons of sugar in April 2018, most of which (55 percent) was delivered to Uzbekistan, the press service of the National Association of Ukrainian Sugar Producers Ukrtsukor said in a statement.
The country exported 41,800 tons of sugar in April of 2018 marketing year, which is 12 percent less than in March 2018.
According to the data, 12 percent of the total sugar export was supplied to the United Kingdom, 6 percent – to Azerbaijan and about 15 percent – to Moldova, Libya and Turkey.
In 2017-2018, the leader in sugar production was Radekhivskyi Sugar LLC (Radekhivskyi Sugar Factory), which produced 149,500 tons of sugar, processing 1.04 million tons of sugar beet.
In January 2018, Ukrainian sugar producers supplied 76,400 tons of products to foreign markets, which is 64 percent more than in January 2017.
