VISA company does not plan to issue co-badged cards soon jointly with the national processing center of Uzbekistan UzCard, VISA stated.

VISA refutes Uzbek media's announcement about the forthcoming release of the UzCard-VISA co-badged cards on the Uzbek market.

Therefore, the statement made by a number of Uzbek media outlets about the alleged signing of an agreement on issuing co-badged cards between VISA and UzCard companies is also not true.

VISA underlined that they cooperate with financial institutions and business partners in Uzbekistan in a number of areas related to development of non-cash payments, but creation of a co-badged card is not among these areas.

In early June 2018, UzCard and UnionPay International (China) signed an agreement on issuing co-badged cards. The agreement signed between the two companies allowed using new cards both on the territory of Uzbekistan, under the UzCard payment system, and outside the republic, under the UnionPay International payment system.
