Preparations have been completed to construct a new dry cement plant with a capacity of 3 million tons of cement per year at the Akhangarancement Plant in the Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan, the Russian cement company Eurocement Group said.

Construction is moving into the active phase and the construction site is ready for large-scale work. At the same time, the plant continues production in full at the existing capacities, which allows to provide consumers with high quality cement.

The construction will reach its peak in 2019, while the completion of the construction and commissioning are planned for mid-2020.

The new plant will become the largest cement enterprise in Central Asia. Choosing the China National Building Material (CNBM) as the contractor will allow Eurocement Group to create one of the most efficient and modern enterprises of the cement industry in Uzbekistan.

A contract between Akhangarancement JSC and Beijing Triumph International Engineering Co., a part of the CNBM group, was signed in the autumn of 2017. The contract's value is $150 million.

The implementation of the project will help expand production of competitive products, reduce the energy intensity of the economy, introduce progressive energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies.
