Revenues to Kazakhstan National Fund increase by over 60%

The assets of the Kazakhstan National Fund amounted to 22.9 trillion tenge at the end of September 2018, which is 6.2 percent more than a year earlier — 21.6 trillion tenge, Finprom.kz reported.

For nine months of this year, revenues to the Fund increased by 66.9 percent and amounted to 2.5 trillion tenge, while the figure was 1.5 trillion tenge for the same period last year.

Tax revenues from the oil sector enterprises amounted to 2.1 trillion tenge, and the investment income for the nine months amounted to 408.3 billion tenge. Moreover, the National Fund received 10.6 billion tenge from privatization of state property, while 11.7 billion tenge were received from other sources.

It is worth noting that despite the wide range of sources, majority of the received funds came from the taxes from the oil sector enterprises, which account for 99 percent of all revenues of the Fund.

Meanwhile, expenditures and use of funds of the National Fund decreased by 33.3 percent in January-September 2018. The amount of funds used made up 2.53 trillion tenge, while a year earlier it was 3.8 trillion tenge. Of the total amount of funds used, 2.51 trillion tenge (99.4 percent) were used for guaranteed transfers.
