Trend:

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) partners with private and semi-private companies in the steel projects, deputy head of IMIDRO Amir Khoramishad told Trend.

IMIDRO’s revenues in Iran Sepid dasht steel complex was 400 billion toman (4000 bilion rial). Shadegan Steel plant and Ghadir steel company together with IMIDRO have caused an increase in steel production and productivity, as well as creating a lot of jobs, he said.

“For a ton of produced steel, there is 4 tons to transport, which includes raw materials and products. Indeed, creating every single direct job in steel industry will create 3 to 5 jobs, indirectly,” said khorram Shad.

"We have 32 ongoing projects this year, which are creating 12,800 direct jobs and about 45,000 indirect ones.”

“As many as 59 projects worth 92 trillion toman will be brought into operation between 2019 to 2021, which will generate employment of 21,000 directly and 59,000 indirectly,” he said.

He noted that IMIDRO is a development organization and its plans should be based on its nature, although with the political pressure against Iran, especially from parliament members, the priorities change.

“The 48 percent of the mineral projects are in deprived areas. Our task is to continue these plans so that the private sector tends to be present there, then we will be leaving. But the issue is the prolonged administrative bureaucracy,” he said.
