Iran allocates $1.2B to stop gas flaring at southern fields

As much as $1.2 billion have been allocated to stop gas flaring at oil fields in southern Iran over the next three years in order to direct the gas from these fields to oil and chemical plants in the country, Managing Director of National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) Bijan Alipour said, IRNA reported.

He said with the signing of two contracts, the flaring of 22 million cubic meters of gas in Khuzestan, Kohgiluyeh o Boyer-Ahmad provinces will be prevented, and it will become fuel for oil and chemical plants.

“With the full implementation of these contracts, there will be no flaring gas left in Khuzestan, Kohgiluyeh o Boyer-Ahmad provinces,” he said.
