Agricultural exports of Iran's Golestan exceed $11M

In the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) nine food products of Iran's Golestan province were exported to eight countries, Eydmohammad Faroogi, an official at Golestan agricultural organization, said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that the total weight of the processed and exported agricultural products of Golestan reached 12,839 tons.
These products were tomato paste, cooking oils, chicken, chicken liver, chicken legs, pickles, poultry feed, cherry plums and shrimps, Faroogi added.
The total value of the mentioned products was over $11.720 million, he said, adding that the products were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, the UAE, Lebanon and Spain.
He underlined that 253 agricultural enterprises of the province have the potential of producing 3 million tons of products.
Golestan province has 667,000 hectares of crop fields, 30,000 hectares of orchards, 970 poultry farms, 482,000 hectares of forests and 862,000 hectares of pastures.
