Azerbaijan's profits from electricity exports increase

According to customs declarations, Azerbaijan exported 1.4 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity during the period of January-December of 2018, which is 16.67 percent more than the figure for 2017, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

The total export volume for the reporting period made up close to $65.6 million (28.63 percent of annual growth).

It is worth mentioning that the main producer of electricity in Azerbaijan is "AzerEnerji" JSC, which has hundreds of substations and dozens of power plants.

According to data provided by the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, power plants in Azerbaijan generated 19.023 billion kilowatts per hour of electricity (1.4 percent of annual decline) during the January-December period of 2018. 18.29 billion kilowatts per hour of the total volume of electricity produced were for the commercial (1.9 percent increase).
