Iran may increase exports of dates to $1B

Iran may increase exports of dates to $1 billion based on its current potential, said Mohsen Rashid Farrokhi, chairman of National Association of Iranian Dates, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that Iran currently exports dates worth $300 million.
He added that Iran’s First International Exhibition of Date, Processing and Related Industries in Shiraz city may help attract foreign investments.
“The current growth observed in the production of dates is the result of cooperation of public and private sectors,” he said.
Iran’s First International Exhibition of Date, Processing and Related Industries started its work Feb. 12 and will last until Feb. 16.
