A mini textile enterprise, to be created in Azerbaijan’s Fizuli District with the joint participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish businesswomen, is expected to start operating this autumn, Sakina Babayeva, head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.

She said the mini enterprise will produce socks.

"Previously, we expected to launch a socks production workshop in the summer of this year, but considering a number of unresolved issues, we believe the mini enterprise will open in the autumn," she noted. "This is a joint project that we are implementing with our Turkish colleagues, and we very much hope for success."

She added that the implementation of the project will contribute to the opening of new jobs in the district.

Over 143,000 women are engaged in business in Azerbaijan, according to statistics.
