Almost 100,000 tons of goods exported via Iran's Astara Railway Terminal

During the period between June 22, 2018 - Feb. 20, 2019, 98,700 tons of cargo were exported through Astara Railway Terminal in Iran's Gilan province, Director General of Astara Customs Administration Rasul Umidi said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Umidi noted that the goods were transported in 1,520 railcars.

He added that during the reported period, 147,300 tons of goods were imported to Iran in 2,390 railcars.

Household goods, ceramics, cement, fruit, stone and clinker were exported to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia, Umidi said.

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) and grains were imported from these countries, he added.

Astara (Iran) - Astara (Azerbaijan) railway was commissioned in March 2018.

Astara county of Iran's Gilan province borders the Astara district of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
