Some 2,175 cars were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-February 2019, which is 2.5 times more than the same period last year, as stated in the report of Geostat (National Statistics Office of Georgia), Trend reports.
According to the report, cars worth a total of $19.8 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan during the mentioned period.
The specific share of this category of goods in the total volume of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan amounted to 33.9 percent. The share of Azerbaijan in the total exports of the country in this category made up 35.3 percent.
Compared to the same period last year, exports of cars from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 18.6 percent in terms of value, and by 2.5 times in quantitative terms. For comparison: in January-February 2018, Georgia exported 876 cars to Azerbaijan worth $16.1 million.
The cars are delivered to Georgia from abroad.
Azerbaijan increased imports of goods from Georgia in January-February 2019 by 1.3 times, compared with the same period last year. Goods worth $58.4 million, or 11.6 percent of total Georgian exports, were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan during the reporting period.
