Cold, hot water tariffs down in Kazakhstan

The tariffs on cold and hot water decreased by 5.7 and 5.1 percent respectively in Kazakhstan in May 2019, compared to the same period of the previous year, Trend reports with reference to Energyprom.

Thus, compared to April 2019, the tariffs on cold water decreased by 0.03 percent and on average amounted to 68.7 tenge per cubic meter. The cost of hot water, in turn, increased by 0.4 percent and on average equaled to 229.5 tenge per cubic meter.

The highest tariff on cold water is observed in Aktau city, where one cubic meter of cold water equaled to 223.9 tenge. Compared to May of the previous year, this price decreased by 4.5 percent.

Aktau is followed by Karaganda and Atyrau cities, where the cubic meter of water costs 104.8 and 103.8 tenge respectively (decrease of five and 8.6 percent).

In turn, the lowest tariffs on cold water are observed in Nur-Sultan city (41.6 tenge, -10 percent), Pavlodar city (42.9 tenge, -3.5 percent) and Uralsk city (45 tenge, -5.8 percent).

However, in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shymkent cities cold water price, in turn, increased by 7.4 percent and 0.8 percent respectively.

The highest tariffs on hot water are observed in Almaty (394.2 tenge per cubic meter, -17.1 percent). It is followed by Kostanay (359.2 tenge, -5.4 percent) and Karaganda (337.9 tenge, -13.8 percent) cities.

The lowest cost of hot water is observed in Pavlodar city (141.6 tenge per cubic meter, -13.8 percent).

Increase of cost on hot water is displayed by Atyrau city (241.1 tenge per cubic meter, +8.6 percent).
