Kazakhstan to expand export to Tajikistan

Kazakhstan and Tajikistan agreed on wheat export, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

The signing of framework contract on the supply of Kazakh wheat took place within the meeting of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the capital of Tajikistan Dushanbe.

Relevant issues of bilateral trade and economy cooperation between countries, as well as prospects of partnership strengthening between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan were covered during the meeting.

The agreement on supply worth $6 million was signed between Food Contract Corporation of Kazakhstan and Agency on the State Materials Reserve under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The volume of bilateral trade between countries increased by 8.2 percent in 2018, whereas the trade turnover amounted to $900 million. Furthermore, the volume of export and import via automobile transport increased by 2.9 times and amounted to 16.9 million tons.
