Kazakhstan increases trade turnover with non-EAEU countries

The value of Kazakhstan’s import from countries that are not members of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) during first five months of 2019 amounted to $8.301 billion, which is 13 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Eurasian Economic Commission’s data.

“Thus, the volume of Kazakhstan’s import of machinery, equipment and vehicles increased by 22 percent, of chemical industry’s products increased by 6.1 percent, of metals and metal products by 13.5 percent, of textile, textile goods and footwear by 1.6 times,” the report said.

In turn, the value of Kazakhstan’s export to the same countries equaled $21.156 billion, which is 1.1 percent more than during the same period of last year.

“The increase of export is due to the increase of export volume of food products and agricultural raw materials by 12.9 percent, of chemical industry products by 1.5 times. In turn, the decrease of export value is observed on mineral products by 1.5 percent and on metals and metal products also by 1.5 percent. Furthermore, the export value of food items and agricultural raw materials decreased by 11.6 percent,” the report said.
