The head of the Uztukimachisanoat Association, Ilkhom Khaidarov, said that 130 high-performance machines were bought this year to pick cotton, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

“In textile clusters, much attention is paid to cotton harvesting technology. To harvest this year, 130 high-performance machines were purchased. It is planned that these machines will work in the fields of Andijan, Syrdarya, Kashkadarya and the Tashkent region,” Khaidarov said at a press conference.

He noted that if more than 10 percent of cotton is harvested with the help of purchased equipment this season, this percentage will increase every year.

“In January 2017, when the head of state gave the order to create cotton-textile clusters, we had only one cluster. In 2018, there were two in Andijan, in all other regions there was one cluster. However, this year, there are already 74 clusters operate in more than 84 districts,” the head of the association said.

According to him, at present, clusters account for 63 percent of the cotton grown.
