Production increases in several Iranian mines

An increase was observed in the production of Iran’s Mehdiabad, Nakhlak and Anguran mines (located in the provinces of Yazd, Isfahan and Zanjan, respectively) over the first 5 months (March 21 – August 22) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), according to the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

According to IMIDRO, the Mehdiabad zinc, lead and barite mining facility produced 306,828 tons of minerals over 5 months. This figure stood at 52,466 tons during the same period of last year. This, in turn, shows an increase of 485 percent compared to last year. An increase of 207 percent was also observed as compared to the set production plan of 100,000 tons.

IMIDRO notes that the Nakhlak zinc ore and zinc mining facility produced 3,248,000 tons of lead over 5 months, which shows an increase of 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (3,093 tons).

Moreover, 27,883 tons of minerals were also produced during this period. This figure shows an increase of 6 percent compared to the figure of 26,442 tons from the same period last year.

According to IMIDRO, the Anguran lead and zinc facility produced 389,895 tons of minerals within 5 months. This figure shows an increase of 178 percent compared to the figure of 140,000 tons from the same period last year.

The facility shipped 224,214 tons of minerals to other factories and companies within the said period, which indicates a 60-percent increase compared to the set production plan of 140,000 tons.
