The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, as part of the establishment of the International North–South Transport Corridor, has ordered the purchase of land for state needs in connection with the construction of the Alat-Gasimli railway, Trend reports referring to the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the Cabinet, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has been chosen as the buyer of land.
Azerbaijan Railways has been instructed to submit proposals to the government regarding the preparation of land redemption measures.
Presently, the company is negotiating with the World Bank regarding the possibility of financing the construction of this railway line by the bank.
The International North–South Transport Corridor is designed to transport goods from India and the Persian Gulf to Russia, Western Europe, the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
