Kazakhstan sees revenue increase from passenger transportation

Every one of 17 Kazakh regions has displayed an increase in passenger traffic, which amounted to 15.5 billion people during the period from January to August 2019, Trend reports with reference to the data of Ranking.kz monitoring agency.

The number of passengers transported during the reporting period increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same period of last year.

According to the information, the largest increase of passenger traffic is observed in Almaty city. The number of transported people here amounted to 3.6 billion passengers, which indicates an increase of 6.4 percent.

Almaty is followed by Aktobe region (increase of 6.2 percent, total of 211.5 million passengers) and Atyrau region (increase of 5.8 percent).

In turn, the smallest increase of passenger traffic is observed in Mangystau region (growth of 0.1 percent), North Kazakhstan region (0.4 percent), West Kazakhstan region and Nur-Sultan city (0.5 percent).

Furthermore, the revenue value of all means of transport amounted to 385.6 billion tenge (approximately $992.682 million) during the reporting period, which means an increase of 8.1 percent.

Thus, 67.3 billion tenge (approximately $173.255 million) of the sum accounts for the road and urban electric transport, which is 1.8 percent more than last year. Some 252.8 billion tenge (approximately $650.804 million) accounts for air transport, which is 14.7 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The revenue of railways transport decreased by 6.4 percent and equaled 65.4 billion tenge (approximately $168.364 million). The revenue from transportation via buses equaled 59.1 billion tenge (approximately $152.146 million)
