Subsidiary of Russia's Sberbank funded over 2,000 projects in Kazakhstan (Exclusive)

Kazakh subsidiary of Russia’s Sberbank is planning on attraction of additional funds within the framework of Enbek ('Labor') program in some regions of the country before the end of this year, a representative of the bank told Trend.

As noted by the representative of the company, Sberbank Kazakhstan is currently participating in almost every state program for funding and subsidizing remuneration rates, which are being implemented in Kazakhstan and holds leading positions both by value of funding and value of listed subsidies.

“Bank’s funding of projects of Kazakh entrepreneurs has amounted to total of 201 billion tenge (approximately $515.675 million) since the beginning of bank’s participation in these programs in 2010. This sum includes 70 billion tenge (approximately $179.588 million), which were directed on funding processing industry projects,” the official said.

Furthermore, bank has funded over 2,076 projects worth 542.37 billion tenge (approximately $1.391 billion) within the framework of Business roadmap – 2020 program for remuneration rate subsidizing, whereas the value of subsidies received by entrepreneurs amounted to 46 billion tenge (approximately $118.015 million),” a representative of the bank said.

He further noted that the bank is not planning on stopping anytime soon.

“In late September 2019, Sberbank Kazakhstan has been allocated an additional tranche of 3 billion tenge under DAMU Regions 3 regional financing program. The terms of the program oversee financing aimed at supporting domestic enterprises operating in any sectors of the economy, except for wholesale and retail trade,” the official said.

A representative of the bank added that Sberbank Kazakhstan is also planning on attraction of additional funds within the Enbek State Program for Development of Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship.

“The Bank is constantly working to find new opportunities for its customers to comprehensively support both existing enterprises and start-up entrepreneurs,” the official concluded.
