TECHNONICOL, the Russian building materials manufacturer, plans to construct its own stone wool plant in Uzbekistan, according to the head of the company’s mineral isolation division. In an interview with Trend, Vasily Tkachev claimed that the decision was justifiable from a geographical standpoint. “Such a location can become the basis for an optimal supply chain, balanced in delivery and cost,” he added.
The company may build a stone wool plant with a capacity of up to 1.3 million cubic meters per year in Uzbekistan.
“In the near future, the company’s specialists will finalize the preliminary design decision of the stone wool factory and assess the state of the segment of heat-insulating materials in Uzbekistan and promising sales regions. A decision to build the plant will be made after this” said Tkachev.
Tkachev noted that the plant for the manufacture of thermal insulation based on mineral wool will help provide the Central Asian construction market with new materials and integrated solutions for the construction of safe, energy-efficient buildings.
He said that stone wool insulation in residential, industrial, and civil construction projects can reduce heating and cooling expenses. The incombustibility of stone wool also reduces fire risk and its durability extends their life.
“In addition, significant changes in the regulatory framework are expected in Uzbekistan regarding the requirements for energy efficiency of both new buildings and renovations. This includes the segment of individual housing construction and reconstruction of heating systems,” said Tkachev.
