Uzbekistan produced manufactured goods worth $24.9 billion for nine months of 2019, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Increase in production amounted to 7 percent compared to the same period last year, where 6.5 percent are accounted for the sectors that produce finished goods.
In particular, high growth rates have been achieved in the automotive industry. The volume of production of cars compared to the same period in 2018 increased by 40 percent, trucks - by 33 percent, buses - 3.8 times, automobile engines - 45 percent.
The production of knitted fabric increased by 26 percent, leather products - 22 percent, cement - 18 percent, cable and wire products - 23 percent, consumer goods - almost 16 percent.
The best production indicators by regions were recorded in Andijan, Namangan, Khorezm, Samarkand, Tashkent and Surkhandarya regions.
Since the beginning of 2019, a total of 72,400 enterprises have been created, including about 16,000 small businesses in industries. The number of small industrial enterprises increased by 25 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
For nine months of this year, small businesses manufactured products worth $8.6 billion, which amounted to 34.5 percent of the total industrial output.
The development of industry was followed by an increase in exports - by 24 percent.
In particular, the export of cars increased by 3.3 times, buses - 2 times, freight vehicles - 1.5 times, transformers and batteries - 2.7 times, cable and wire products - 2.2 times, shoes - 2.1 times.
Exports of yarn grew by 19 percent, finished knitted and garment products - 25 percent, knitted fabric - 31 percent, finished textile products - 38 percent, food products - 14 percent, non-ferrous metals and articles thereof - 45 percent, ferrous metal products - 54 percent.
