Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investment held talks with representatives of the Chinese Anhui Conch Cement Co.LTD JSC, where the parties discussed plans to implement a project for the production of cement with a capacity of 2.2 million tons per year in the Akhangaran district of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region, Trend reports with reference to the agency.
In addition, representatives of the Chinese company noted that the construction of a cement plant with a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year in Uzbekistan’s city of Karshi is being carried out in accordance with the approved schedules and the plant will be commissioned by the end of next year.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the Uzbek economy and will become part of the One Belt One Road global initiative, which will strengthen relations between the two states, read the message.
Moreover, during the meeting, the Chinese side announced its intention to sign an investment agreement between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and Anhui Conch Cement Co.LTD JSC during the visit of Premier of the State Council of People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang to Uzbekistan on Nov. 1-2, 2019. The parties discussed the details of this agreement.
